New Year…New Goals!
At the end of every year we reflect. In business, big and small, we look at our profits vs. expenses. We look at our client base and see where we could have been more profitable. We look at those lofty goals we set at the beginning of the year and see how many we can check off as accomplished. Then we sit down and plan for the next year. This process is refreshing, enlightening, cathartic even. Then comes the week after the new year….when we BEGIN. For me, the planning is always the easy part. I know what my goals are. I know my strengths and my weaknesses. The beginning is the hard part.
So my goals for 2018 are easy. Find new clients. Cultivate the relationships with my current clients. Help businesses see their goals come to fruition. Continue the work that combines my head and my heart. As a small business, I get the luxury of spending the extra 15 minutes with my clients to hear about their fears and goals and personal life. Relationships have always been the most rewarding part of my business. Sure a logo and a brochure looks pretty, but it’s helping a start-up put into words and a plan how their business is going to grow and succeed. I am nourished by that phone call from someone telling me that someone saw their website and read their story and decided to do business with them.
I believe that we are all searching and reaching for the same thing…both in business and in life. Striving to be the best we can be, have purpose in what we do, and help others along the way do the same thing. Good luck on your 2018 goals and remember…all you have to do is BEGIN.
